Dear Friends,
This weekend we celebrate the 11th Sunday of Ordinary Time. Ordinary Time is the weekends and weekdays that do not include the Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter Seasons or other feasts and solemnities throughout the liturgical year. Ordinary Time, however, is far from ordinary as we hear about all the things Jesus said and did.
In today’s Gospel, for instance, Jesus summons his twelve apostles and gives them authority to speak and heal in His name. He tells them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” Through our baptism’s we too are called to be laborers of the harvest bringing others to Christ by all we say and do in Jesus’ name!
Many Blessings and a Happy Summer to All,
Father Chris
