A beautiful Catholic chapel to the Immaculate Heart of Mary awaits prayerful visitors everyday in the nation’s capital.

The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. provides a prayer that can be used in August when the Catholic Church traditionally celebrates the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

A beautiful Catholic chapel

The chapel at the Basilica hosts a stunning mosaic of Pope Pius XII bowing before the Virgin Mary with the quote: “We consecrate ourselves forever to your Immaculate Heart.”

The following prayer is also in the Catholic chapel:

Father, you prepared the heart of the Virgin Mary to be a fitting home for Your Holy Spirit. By her prayers, may we become more worthy of Your glory. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The best saint quotes about the Immaculate Heart of Mary

For centuries the saints have revered the Immaculate Heart of Mary with strong love and devotion.

Perhaps, St. Louis de Montfort captures the Catholic devotion the best stating:

“If you put all the love of the mothers into one heart it still would not equal the love of the Heart of Mary for her children.”

The Immaculate Heart of Mary represents a heart full of purity and love that we can honor and imitate. St. Anthony Mary Claret gave a wonderful example of what it means for a Christian to imitate Mary:

“A son of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a man on fire with love, who spreads its flames wherever he goes. He desires mightily and strives by all means possible to set the world on fire with God’s love.”
